Hello and welcome to Eat for Yourself. I’m delighted that you stopped by, whether it’s to read my blethers, browse for a recipe or join the conversation.
In case you didn’t spot it in the opening-line slang, I’m Scottish, residing in Dundee. Bloody fabulous city! (“Dundee’s setting is probably more extraordinary than any other city in Scotland or Britain. It is about as ideal – ludicrously ideal – as any city setting could be” – Stephen Fry – very intelligent man, therefore it’s a fact). If you’ve not been here before, or even worse, never heard of it, then sort it out and add it to your bucket list.
I have a serious passion for food, I mean serious to the point of thinking about it for about 23 hours and 45 minutes every day. The other 15 minutes I spend concentrating on work… just kidding boss! With this passion (obsession?) comes a slightly unhealthy relationship with food at times, which you can read more about in my blog posts. It’s a daily battle which I am winning, but whatever the day you can guarantee that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed some sort of scrumptious concoction, many of which will be shared here in recipes.
There are a couple of important people I should introduce you to, as you’ll hear them mentioned regularly. Firstly, there’s ‘the fella’, the significant other, the ONE! He gets to be my guinea pig, and he’s ever so gracious, often giving praise where praise is definitely not yet due. Then there’s ‘the wee lass’, she is the beautiful offspring of the fella, and just adorable. She also can play guinea pig (without knowing it), although in a much less experimental way. There is a definite limit to how much she will try, but I don’t hold it against her.
